---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MELAO // Colombia // Huila
A 3 farmer community lot in Southern Huila - produced by Freddy Ordonez, Jose Tierradentes and Gildardo Munoz. This coffee was processed and sold as green coffee, to Caravela, who exported this coffee from Colombia.
Farmgate Price: 7.69 EUR / KILO
FOB Price: 11.80 EUR / KILO
C Price: 5.50 EUR / KILO
Roughly 40% above C price - I'd score this coffee at 86.6 points, so we would expect a solid premium, this is good. Generally above commonly cited Colombian living-income reference price levels for green coffee.
As referred to in Fairtrade Living Income Progress Report 2026 and ICO 2026 Coffee Market Report.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMBOLC // Ethiopia // Keramo //
Produced by local smallholders, who sold this coffee to (or processed this coffee through) Daye Bensa, a well established producer in the Bensa region, Sidamo. The farmgate price is the price paid to Daye Bensa for green coffee.
Farmgate Price: 7.66 EUR / KILO
FOB Price: 8.17 EUR / KILO - Imported by Coffee Legends. The small gap between the FOB and Farmgate price shows us that the exporter has not tacked on huge costs to export this coffee. The majority of the FOB price goes straight to the producer.
C Price: C Price at time of purchase was 5.5 EUR / KILO. A somewhat useful benchmark that shows us a good quality premium has been paid for a coffee I would score at 88 points.
MY EDUCATED GUESS: Overall this looks pretty solid. High farmgate price and good clearance over the C. Daye Bensa does great work in the area however may be operating as an intermediary between the smallholder producers who contributed to this coffee, and the exporter. I cant find further information on this for now.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- LUIS MARINO ORTEGA // COLOMBIA // San Agustin
Produced by Luis Marino Ortega, working with the Monkaaba project. Established by seven smallholder famillies in the region, alongside Semilla, our importer, founded upon a collectivist idea that smallholders in the area can roast, taste, and learn more about their coffees. Allowing them to gain market access to speciality coffee, and achieve consistency and better prices for their coffees.
Farmgate Price: COP$3,700,000 per carga parchment // the imprint distinction here is Luis sold parchment - We will draw comparisons based on parchment prices.
National farmgate price (avg.): COP$3,000,000 per carga
FOB Price: $5.68 USD/lb
C Price: C Price at time of purchase was 5.5 EUR / KILO. In COP per cargo of parchment, roughly, 2,008,000. Our Farmgate is therefore roughly 84% higher than the C price.
Comfortably meeting living wage standards according to Faritrades 2025 Living Income Reference // I'm unsure how useful that guide is, but all in all, it looks a very solid price.
